WINDnovation is happy to announce that with the support of IBB Berlin and the European Fonds for Regional Development the research project LoadBox is supported. With Berlin baseds partners ZESYS e.V. and KeyWind Energy GmbH an autonomous system to monitor the blade loads during the whole life cycle of the rotor blade – from transportation of the blade to the turbine site, during commisioning and during the full operational life will be developed. The data generated can be used for root cause analysis in case of a blade failure as well as a basis for life-time extension.

Blades grow in size…
When WINDnovation started to design rotor blades some ten years ago, 50m blades were considered huge. With every year passing by the length of the blades increased by some 5m and in 2020 WINDnovation finished the design of the first blade of 100m in size for a 8 MW wind turbine! The blade is nearly ten times longer than WINDnovation’s smallest blade and in spite of using the most sophisticated materials and production technologies about 100 times heavier.

DynAWind2
WINDnovation is proud to be a project partner of DynAWind2. In cooperation with Lehrstuhl für Technische Mechanik/Dynamik – Universität Rostock and W2E Wind to Energy – Rostock a model-based structural condition monitoring with a minimum amount of sensors shall be developed. The works are funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

In August 2018, in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland WINDnovation upgraded the certificate of its Quality Management System from ISO9001:2008 to ISO9001:2015 to comply with the latest standards .

Our first manufactured blade
Launch of the successful WINDblades – a family of designs ready for licensing. Until 2019, more than 60 designs licensed. Main market: India and China. A WINDnovation designed 44m rotor blade powers the Donghai Bridge windfarm – first Chinese Offshore windfarm near Shanghai and one of the exhibits of EXPO Shanghai 2010.
